Etymology
Derived from its majuscule counterpart Ϝ, from the Phoenician letter 𐤅, waw.
Symbol
ϝ
- Lower case digamma, the sixth letter of the ancient Greek alphabet. Its name was probably ϝαῦ, later δίγαμμα, and it represented a voiced labial-velar approximant:IPA: /w/. It is preceded by ε and followed by ζ.
